Hey y’all! I’m Brooke and I live in Dallas, TX with my amazing husband, Jim and our beautiful daughter, Peyton, who is 8 and in third grade. That’s me posing for a pic with Autumn Calabrese, the creator of the 21 Day Fix! I’ve been a Fitness Coach since February 2013.
This was me at my heaviest in 2012. I was about 200 pounds – 40 pounds overweight.
I started running in September of 2012 and tried Jenny Craig. It helped me lose almost 20 pounds, but then I plateaued. I got stuck. I got frustrated. A friend in a running group suggested I start doing Les Mills Combat and drinking Shakeology — not only to help with my desire to hit my goal weight, but also to add cross-training into my running routine. I was very hesitant at first because I was NOT a video girl. Working out to DVD’s in your home was lame. I was a former collegiate athlete and I didn’t want to “lower my standards” so to speak. But clearly what I was doing wasn’t working. So I gave it a try.
I am SO glad I said yes! After adding Shakeology into my daily nutrition I had more energy, I had less cravings, my metabolism jumped back into high gear, and I felt like I was putting amazing nutrients into my body. My mental health did a complete 180 as well. I wasn’t as depressed. After 18 months of drinking Shakeology I was able to cut my anxiety medication in half. I was more confident.
Today, I continue to use Shakeology and Beachbody programs to cross-train. I’ve now run 10 half marathons and 2 marathons since 2013. I’ve maintained my weight loss and I’m incredibly happy. I set higher goals for myself. I have a huge bucket list related to fitness now, including a triathalon and trail runs, competing in the CrossFit Games, and much more. I may be 37, but I feel like I’m 27.
